White-Tailed Deer

White-Tailed Deer

Adult white-tailed deers develop antlers with a main beam extending forward and branches extending upward. When white-tailed deers are threatened, they dash forward and their tails flick upward, revealing the white undersides. It is believed that this action confuses predators. Their name derives from this behaviour.
